It’s for anyone who’s met the prerequisites, who wants to develop a professional level of CT skills.

It probably isn’t a good fit for someone who only wants change for themselves, and isn’t interested in guiding others. That’s because only about ⅓ of the CT sessions you’ll be doing are swaps (you guide someone for half the sessions, and you’re guided by someone for the other half). For the other ⅔ of the CT sessions, you’ll be guiding clients who are new to CT, giving them 2 sessions each.

(Of course, if you have time for it, you can probably find others to pair up with for extra practice swaps. This isn’t guaranteed though.)

No. We always have a substantial portion of the group who hasn’t been seeing clients yet.

Our experience is that most people who’ve been through the Advanced CT course, who can also spend a little time preparing over the summer, are ready to take the next CTCC in the fall. (In some cases, we do recommend spending a year getting practice with CT and then taking it.)

Keep in mind that the Beyond the Script (BTS) course is designed to help you prepare for the CTCC, and most people can easily do the few recommended BTS modules over the summer.

Here’s what “readiness” looks like to us:

From the Foundation course:

• Able to follow the Foundation script.
• About half done with memorizing the Foundation script, phases 1&2. (A module in the Beyond the Script course helps with memorizing. If you have exceptional difficulties with memory, after putting in a reasonable effort, reach out to us and we can work with you on this. This isn’t a reason not to take the CTCC.)
• At least one experience with Aligning Perceptual Positions and Parental Timeline Reimprinting. This is covered in the streaming video version of the CTF course, if it wasn’t taught in the CTF course that you attended.

From the Advanced CT course:

• Module 1: Be able to tell if something is or isn’t a specific feeling, behavior, or thought to be changed.
  Be able to use the “Cheat Sheet” to find questions to ask, to specify further.
  It isn’t necessary to memorize all the questions on the Cheat Sheet.
  A BTS (Beyond the Script) module can help you learn this skill.
  This is an area that has a learning curve, for everyone. So please don’t expect yourself to have this mastered before the CTCC starts. We will help you continue to get better at this during the CTCC.
• Module 2: Able to use your notes to navigate a situation with an objecting part.
  A BTS module helps develop this skill.
  We give additional teaching materials for this in the CTCC.
  Again, it isn’t necessary to have this mastered before the CTCC begins. Just have a good start on it.
• Module 3: Be familiar with the 3 formats for working with more than one part at once, and able to find these in your notes if needed. However, it’s very unlikely for a situation to come up where this will be needed. You’ll be working with clients who are new to CT for 2 sessions, working with a mild to moderate issue. We really want for you to be working one part at a time if at all possible.
• Module 4: It’s important to be able to recognize the seven challenges taught in this module, and be able to find the appropriate response in your notes. We don’t expect you to have these responses memorized.
• Module 5: Even though we ask CTCC clients to work with mild to moderate issues, some people’s “mild issues” can be quite challenging, especially if they have a trauma background. So, we do recommend being familiar with the material in this unit, and being able to find what you need if you need something from this unit.
• Module 6: This won’t be needed for the CTCC. We’ll be asking CTCC clients to start with a feeling, behavior, or thought they want to change. Not a physical symptom.

These are reasons some people spend an extra year getting more experience with Core Transformation before taking the CTCC.

1. If you think you have more difficulties than most with learning the material in the Advanced CT course. (Our experience is that most people do fine in the CTCC after taking the ACT, and there’s just a few people who would be better off waiting a year.)
2. If you think that personal issues would make it very difficult to focus on learning to help others, or to interact with others in a learning context. (Keep in mind that everyone has personal issues, and most people have issues in the context of learning. And taking Core Transformation can help work through any issues that interfere. However, in a very small number of cases, this can be a reason to put off the CTCC and focus on personal healing first.)
3. If you have exceptionally major issues with receiving feedback—even when the other person is doing their best to deliver the feedback in a supportive way–and you don’t think you’ll be willing and able to work through these issues. (Almost everyone has at least a few issues with giving or receiving feedback, yet can usefully engage in the feedback we do in the CTCC.)

If you’d like to take the CTCC, yet you have doubts about if you’re ready, please reach out to us. 

Sometimes, very capable people are quite hard on themselves. So feeling a lack of confidence doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t have the skills you would need for the CTCC. 

First, compared with the ACT, the CTCC has twice as many units.

Also, because we’re certifying that you have skills, this takes a great deal more time from us. Twice during the course, you’ll have one on one time with Tamara and/or Mark, getting individualized feedback and tips. 

We also provide you with services such as listing your coaching business on our CoreTransformation.org website, giving you sample marketing materials and coaching forms, maintaining the legal trademark of the method that benefits all coaches, etc.

 Supporting the logistics for this course is much more involved (such as finding you clients to work with, connecting you, etc.) We think this is well worth the added value of actually getting to practice your skills with real people you don’t know, who don’t yet have experience with CT (and more importantly, getting feedback while you’re practicing). Many courses don’t provide any opportunities to practice with real clients from outside the course. In our course you’ll gain the confidence that comes from knowing you can work with people with no background in CT, because you’ve already done it..

The CTCC is also a smaller group, limited to 24 participants. We predict that most likely, the group will be between 16 and 24. This gives you added value of extra time and attention throughout the course.

We’ve done some “internet research” to find out what other training institutes are doing, and we’ve found that some other Coach Certification programs cost between $10k and $20k, while delivering (in our opinion) less value than we are. So we’re very comfortable that the value is there.

You may have noticed that compared to some other coach certification programs, we deliver more value for significantly lower tuition. It’s because we can. And we think this level of tuition is appropriate for our market, and for a lot of people who are in it to help others. 

We might not always think this way. Occasionally, we wonder if our tuition is way too low. However, we don’t currently have a plan for a major increase in tuition.
